Applicants for KE20
Anybody can apply regardless of nationality, age and place of residence.
You can apply either as an individual or group.
When the uploaded material has been saved the application is complete. The applicant does not receive a confirmation email.
Work requirements
Only works completed within the last two years will be accepted.
Works that have previously been shown at any of the other state-recognized censored
exhibitions will not be accepted.
These are: Kunstnernes Sommerudstilling, Kunstnernes Påskeudstilling, Forårsudstillingen at Charlottenborg and Nordkraftudstillingen.
KE can reject a work if it is deemed dangerous to handle and/or exhibit.
KE only accepts work, which can be shown for the whole duration of the exhibition period. If
you apply with a work, which requires any form of maintenance, supervision, etc., it is the solely the artist’s responsibility to make sure work functions properly.
KE does not exhibit work outside Den Frie’s building.
Video
Videos longer than 3 min, must be uploaded in two versions. One version, which can be viewed in its full length of duration and another version edited to a maximum length of 3 min.
In the first and second round the work will be evaluated on the edited version. If the work proceeds to the third and final round it will be viewed in its entirety.

Digital works (video, animation, sound, etc.) have to be submitted with an internet-address, so it is accessible on the internet; like for example Vimeo and Youtube. It is a good idea to provide the link with a password. Make sure that your name does not appear anywhere in the video, as it has to be anonymous.
KE recommend applicants applying with a video installation or an installation that makes use of sound, to upload their work as an “installation”.
A link to the video, sound-file, etc., must be included in the top of the comments box.

Registration fee
The registration fee can be found under 'Tilmelding' in the menu 'KE19'.
Once the registration fee of 575 kr. has been paid, you can upload up to 6 works. You can freely choose a category for each individual work.
When you have paid the registration fee through KE’s website, you will receive a confirmation email with the receipt. The receipt will also contain you journal number and pin code, which you need to log into your account and fill out the application. To access the application form go to “Min ansøgning” in the menu “KE20”.
If your works goes through to the third round, each piece must be labeled with your journal and work number, when it is handed in.
Check your spam-folder: In some cases KE’s mail end up in the spam folder, so remember to check it.

Photo quality and catalog
We recommend that you upload your photos the following way:
First picture shows the work in the space, second photo shows the work in it entirety, the rest of the photos can be used for different details.
Make sure the photos are good quality. The ideal size is 2600 x 1800 pixels, 300 dpi, though max. 6 MB, uploaded as a RGB-file in JPEG-format.
File names must only contain letters (a-z) or numbers (0-9). Characters and symbols like for example #, %, @, -, will cause a default in your upload.
If your work(s) makes it through to the exhibition, we will use one of your photos for the catalog.
The 3 rd . Round
If your work goes through to the third and final round, the work has to be submitted in person for the final evaluation.
If your work is digital you must hand-in an USB-Stick. Each USB-Stick must only contain one work. If the work is accepted, the version on the USB-Stick will be used.
Digital works must be saved in a MPEG4-format (minimum 15.000 kbps). Sound-files must be saved in a WAV-format.
The physical hand-in will be on the 16th of November, between 20-23 Pm. The address is :

Both the protective packaging and the art work(s) have to be labeled with “KE20” and journal number-and work number.
It is also possible to mail smaller works. They must arrive no later than the 14th of November and be correctly labeled.
Transport and insurance
The artist is responsible for delivering and collecting the work. The artist is also responsible for insuring the work.
If you mail the work, KE will unfortunately not be able to return it to you.
USB-Stick’s will be returned if it is submitted with a pre-paid envelope.
Right of disposal
If your work is accepted to KE20, the artist automatically agree to allow KE to use photos of the artist’s work for PR, etc.
The exhibition
KE and Den Frie have the sole responsibility of how the exhibition will be hanged and curated. If how your work must be exhibited is very important, you can leave a note for the jury in the comments section of your application.
It is the artist’s responsibility to provide the necessary technical equipment if your work requires it.
The KE and Andratx Price
All the exhibiting artists have the opportunity to win KE-prisen og CCA Andratx-prisen.
Sale of work
If a work is sold during the exhibition KE will take a 30% commission.
If your work is not for sale, just write “privat” in the application form.
Collecting your work
If none of your work is successful beyond the 3rd round, the work has to be picked up Tuesday the 13th of ONovember 2018 between 9-13.
When the exhibition is finished, the exhibited work(s) must be collected at Den Frie on Sunday the 13th of December between 18-21 or Monday the 14th of December between 9-12.
